The Phong Nha Cave is the most well known cave in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. It is the first cave discovered in the park by ancient Cham people who lived in Central Viet Nam from the 2nd to the 19th century. The Cham people used the cave as a temple for worshipping Hindu and Buddhist gods, and they wrote old script on cave walls.
The cave is also part of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail and was used as a shelter during the Viet Nam War, so visitors can witness massive bomb scars at the main entrance.
Tour departs daily at 8:00 am and finishes at 5:00 pm
